It's Almost That Time

I have not updated in a while because there really hasn't been a ton of excitement during this pregnancy. It really has been pretty mild for the most part. Here are my progression pictures thus far...
8 Weeks

12 Weeks

16 Weeeks

20 Weeks

24 Weeks

28 Weeks

32 Weeks
There ya go! :) I felt like my pregnancy this time has progressed more evenly than it did with Ashlyn. I gained too much weight with her and it has been so nice to only gain what I was suppose to this time. It has helped that I have stayed active and have eaten pretty well. I have not deprived myself, however....I love my ice cream and well donuts are a pretty bad weakness too. :-) But for the most part my eating habits have been under control.

This pregnancy has been much different than Ashlyn's. I have to say it has been harder. It could be that I have  toddler running around that takes all my energy but I have for sure seen some serious differences. I am currently 35 weeks and 2 days pregnant which means I only have 33 days to go!!!! yikes!!! It has flown by in my opinion. I can't believe that even in a matter of 2 weeks I could be having this baby. Ashlyn would have been late if I wouldn't have been induced. This one we don't have that option seeing as we are doing a birth center birth. If he comes late then he comes late. I'm not going to rush it. It doesn't mean I won't be ready sooner ;).

We have had our birthing class as well as a midwives chat class. The birthing class was AWESOME! It really showed us how we knew nothing with Ashlyn. We didn't take a class with her and now I wish we would have. I would have done things a lot differently. This time we feel more prepared and ready for a natural water birth to take place. I am very excited about the process to come but also nervous. I know that with God I can handle anything. My husband is going to be a huge support to me during this process so I know I will be just fine. I will be excited to share our story!  The midwives chat class was a little different. They were preparing us for things that may go wrong. In the small percent chance that we would need to go over to the hospital and what we would need to do if something was to occur. It is great knowledge to have but of course we hope and pray that nothing of the sorts goes wrong to where we will need to go to the hospital. If we do, the birthing center is a block away from Swedish so it is a very short drive.

Overall, this pregnancy has been a wonderful experience. I am ready to have my body back at this point. I'm starting to feel pretty exhausted again and he is getting bigger and bigger. I'm known to have larger babies and so he fills up every inch of my stomach. Every time this little guy moves it is uncomfortable. But it is all awesome at the same time. I wouldn't trade this experience for the world. We love him so much already. We are excited to meet him.

Btw, he does have a name....EASTON MICHAEL PETRILLO!

I may or may not update before his arrival. :) Can't wait!

Pregnancy Week 21

These posts will be a week behind what I am. I am currently 22 weeks but I will be writing about the week I just finished. So 21 weeks is a little over half way and I can't believe I am here already! This pregnancy is flying by! I started looking at my calendar and at all the events leading up to August and I am swamped! It's amazing how busy I will be but it will just make the time go quicker. I always feel so good when I'm pregnant so a part of me wants it to just slow down a little.

This week, I haven't had really any new symptoms or anything. I haven't had any cravings this week either. I am trying to eat healthy and exercise regularly to keep my weight maintained so it doesn't get out of control like it did with Ashlyn. :) I learned my lesson for sure! At 21 weeks I was up about 12 lbs. I am consistently gaining about a pound a week but then I tend to level out. So my goal is gain no more than 30 pounds this pregnancy. The midwife told me I should gain between 25-35 lbs but I think middle ground is the best :). We will see what happens. It usually falls off pretty quick afterwards so I'm not too worried about that. Gotta love nursing ;).

The baby has been kicking a lot harder lately and I can feel little fists hit me as well. I love these feelings of movement inside and knowing that my baby is healthy and active. What a blessing from God! :) I can't wait to start really seeing the baby roll inside. I always thought that was cool with Ashlyn.

I had a midwife appointment this week and the baby's heart rate was 140 bpm. Baby seems to be healthy and growing well. I also had an ultrasound and yes I do know what I am having! I will post tomorrow about our Gender Party we had this past Friday and what the results are. (For those of you who do know through Facebook, don't spill on here) ;) I will announce it tomorrow and can't wait! I will have pictures and such from the party.

I think that is about all for now. I will keep you posted next week. :) Stay tuned for tomorrows post. The big reveal! :)

A Look Into My Pregnancy Thus Far

I have been meaning to write weekly posts on this blog about my pregnancy but somehow I forgot about it. (pregnancy brain maybe?) I will recap about my journey so far and insert all my monthly pictures. Hopefully from here on I can update each week if anything new is going on.

We found out in December that we were expecting so we were able to tell the family on and around Christmas. It was wonderful!
The best way I can describe the first 12 weeks of my pregnancy was that I felt car sick the whole time. I never got sick, which I am so glad! I didn't with my daughter either. I was extremely exhausted and chasing after Ashlyn was hard work. My family and I had to eat out for the majority of the 12 weeks b/c I couldn't dare cook anything and I couldn't smell anything being cooked in the house. That ruled out my husband from cooking either.
I had two ultrasounds, one at 7 weeks and another at 9 weeks. This was because of my history with a miscarriage and an ectopic pregnancy and within a few months from each other.  This is our sweet baby at 7 weeks. So tiny! The arrow is pointing to it's teeny tiny head. :) I love this little baby already!
By the time the 12 month mark hit my "car sickness" ended cold turkey! I am not complaining ;) I am so blessed to have great pregnancies and I hope this one continues to go that direction. Here are my monthly growing belly photos. :)

3 months

4 months

5 months
I finally felt the baby move towards the end of my 18th week. It was so wonderful to finally feel the movement. Brett has already felt baby as well. :)

I am now 21 weeks and feeling great! I have had 3 cravings so far and they were so random. The first one was a Belgian Waffle, then it was Dippin' Dots, and finally Dr. Pepper! I satisfied them all and then they were gone. :) I will write a post at the end of my 21st week.

Stay tuned for more of my journey through this pregnancy! :)

What's For Lunch For Toddler

I wanted to do a quick post on what a feed my daughter for lunch. There are plenty of times where we settle for the easy meals like Mac and cheese or on pb and j. But a lot of times I like to feed her meals that are more healthy for her. I will insert a pic of what she is eating, but this is what I served her. she had Spinach Cheese Bites, cucumber sticks, frozen blueberries and low fat vanilla yogurt and milk. All of what she ate is made from organic ingredients.

Okay I hope this was interesting or helpful to some of you. Enjoy! If you would like the recipe for the bites they are soooo yummy and easy to make :) I even love them!

I will post my menu plan later!
Happy Monday! :)

Walking in My Mother's Footsteps

I grew up around my mom who sewed nonstop! She was an amazing seamstress! She made anything from a simple pillow cover to a wedding dress! She was incredible! I can't say that enough!

This is my beautiful Mommy and myself :)
I lost my mom, my best friend, to a cancer battle a little over 3 years ago. It was the worst thing that has ever happened to me! But I know that she is in a much better place now and is waiting for me to join her.

When she passed she willed all of her belongings to me. All of her sewing equipment and everything came home with me. When I was little she was always trying to get me to sew and I just didn't think it was cool b/c my mom was doing it. :) Don't we all go through that as children? Anyway, I decided a few months back to dust off that old sewing machine and give it a whirl. I have had hardly any experience in sewing (besides just watching my mom) and so I asked my mother-in-law and a friend to help teach me the basics.  I ended up making 9 pillows for my couch and window bench in my living room and curtain panels! I was so proud of myself and just knew my mom would be proud too. :)

Since then I have put that sewing machine up and haven't thought much about it...until just the other day!   I was thinking of all sorts of things I could make...place mats for my kitchen table, cloth diapers and wipes, a car seat cover one that replaces the car seat cover on there now and then another type of cover that goes over top that doesn't block the handle yet shields baby from rain, snow, wind, light when they are sleeping. Coolest invention ever! (not invented by me obviously HA) I just really feel like if I don't try I won't know if I can really truly sew just like my mom. My mom had many many years experience and I'm for sure getting a late start on that but I think I could do it.

I received a lot of characteristics from my mom (dad too) and I am proud of most of them (there is always that one that you wish you didn't have from both parents right...lol). I always strive to be more like she was! I hope that one day I can make her even more proud of me by my increase interest in sewing. I know with practice I can get better. The good news now is I'm ready to really try! She would be so proud!

I miss you mommy!

Menu Plan Monday--April 1-7

Hey guys! I am so excited to be back in the swing of planning my weekly meals! It is such a huge help if I will just take the time to do it! I encourage you to make one for next week if you aren't usually doing so. It really does take all the guess work out of it and is a huge money savor on your grocery bill. :) Never hurts to save money, right?

I decided that for breakfast this week I was going to limit cold cereal to once a week or in case of a late start days. We eat WAY too much cereal and the cereal I buy is pricey because it is organic. So here are what our breakfasts will look like this week.

Sunday- Cold cereal, fruit
Monday- Pancakes, Bacon, fruit
Tuesday- Eggs, Toast, fruit
Wednesday- Biscuits and Gravy, Sausage, fruit
Thursday- Oatmeal, fruit
Friday- Bagels, fruit
Saturday- Hashbrown Scramble

*I serve fruit at every breakfast*

Lunches we will just do a variety of sandwiches, salads or leftovers from the night before.

Dinners look like this...

Sunday- Out or Leftovers
Monday- Homemade Sausage and Pepper Pizza, Salad
Tuesday- Easy Shrimp Pasta, Veggies, Bread
Wednesday- Cheeseburgers, Baked Fries, Corn
Thursday- Poppyseed Chicken, Veggies
Friday- Incredibly Cheesy Turkey Meatloaf, Veggies
Saturday- Leftovers

*I would usually plan something for Saturday but seeing as what I am making most days will make a lot so we should have plenty to choose from for Saturday's meal. :)*

I hope this helps you get some ideas for your meals! Enjoy! Let me know if you need any of the recipes that aren't posted.

Have a wonderful week and happy eating!

Kitchen Remodel

Our Kitchen Before

Our Dining Room Before
This weekend has been rather insane! On Friday my husband started the demo of the floors. Talk about a chore! The dining room went fairly quick because our nice neighbor came over and just got down to business. So between him and Brett they knocked that out quickly.
After Tile Removed in Dining Room
Well, that was not the anticipated "difficult" part...the kitchen itself was! It had a slight step up from the dining to the kitchen that was unnecessary. We knew that whoever laid the tile must have just laid it on top of whatever was there to begin with and were too lazy to do the job correctly. So when my husband started taking up the kitchen floors he noticed there were several layers that had to come up! There was the original subfloor, then laminate, subfloor, laminate, subfloor, laminate, chicken wire, then our tile!

Can you believe that! That made Brett's job 100x harder than it needed to be. :( Poor guy!

(I'm not sure why the above text is black and the rest is correct. This is acting up, sorry)

Saturday he was still working on ripping the floors up and even today he is finishing that part up. But to our "surprise" the subfloor was rotting and in other places the original subfloor was also rotting. So now Brett has to go rip up the original floor and start 100% over. :( He is absolutely exhausted from this weekend. I hope he doesn't get sick!

I will be excited when we can post the after pictures of our new kitchen. Well, I guess it really isn't "our" new kitchen but whoever decides to buy it, their new kitchen :). Hopefully it will make us some money though.

Update coming soon!
